You can customize your workspace in Kanzi Studio: you can open new tool windows, rearrange, and close them as the work in your project shifts from one stage to the next.
If you prefer a specific workspace layout for certain tasks or project stages, you can create and save all such layouts and then load them when you need a specific workspace layout. See Saving your workspace layout.
Opening windows
To open a new window select Window and from the menu select the window you need:
Project shows the structure of your projects. This is where you create and organize the content, and manage your projects. See Projects.
Library shows project resources such as meshes, animations, materials, textures, components, trajectories. You can also open a window showing each of resources in a separate window. See Resources.
Properties shows object properties. This is where you modify and add object properties to change the way they look and behave. See Editing content.
Application Window and Preview show in real time what the project you are working on looks like. This is where you can move and arrange some objects. See Previewing content.
Log shows the status of your project such as messages triggered in your project, but also warning and error messages. See Viewing log messages.
Rearranging windows in your workspace
You can rearrange your workspace by docking, undocking, opening and closing windows.
To dock a window:
In the Window menu select the window you want to add as a tab. Kanzi Studio opens the window.
Click the header of the window you want to dock. A guide diamond appears in the center of the area where the window is.
Drag the window over the area where you want to dock it, and move it over the corresponding portion of the guide diamond. The area where the window docks becomes shaded.
Release the mouse button to dock the window in the indicated position.
To undock click the header of the window and drag it either to a new location in the guide diamond, or drop it to keep the window floating.
To close a window, click the X in the header of the window you want to close.
Adding any window as a tab to another window
You can add any window as a tab to any other window to see more than one type of content in the same window.
To add any window as a tab to another window:
In the Window menu select the window you want to add as a tab. Kanzi Studio opens the window.
Click and drag the header of the window over the window where you want to add it as a tab, and move it over the central part of the guide diamond.
Release the mouse button to add the window as a tab.
Saving your workspace layout
To save the current layout of your workspace, select Window > Create New View, name the view and click OK.
To change a layout, select Window > Views, and select the workspace layout from the list.
