Using proxy-server to activate a license¶
Kanzi Studio uses the system proxy server settings when activating a license. If the proxy requires authentication, Kanzi Studio will handle it using credentials stored in Windows Credentials Manager.
If the required credentials are not found, Kanzi Studio will prompt you to enter them. When you provide valid credentials, they are stored in Windows Credentials Manager and reused for subsequent activations.
How to Configure Proxy for License Activation¶
Configure system proxy
Make sure your Windows system proxy settings are correct. You can configure them in:
Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy
Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings
Attempt license activation in Kanzi Studio
Launch Kanzi Studio and begin the license activation process (using product key, floating license, etc.). Kanzi Studio automatically detects and applies system proxy settings.
Provide proxy credentials if prompted
If the proxy requires authentication and credentials are not found in Windows Credentials Manager:
A dialog appears asking for username and password.
Enter your proxy username and password.
Kanzi Studio validates and saves them in Windows Credentials Manager for future use.
Successful activation
Once credentials are validated, Kanzi Studio continues with license activation. For future sessions, you will not be asked again unless the credentials change or are removed.
Troubleshooting¶
Wrong credentials |
If you entered incorrect data, update or delete the saved entry in Windows Credentials Manager and retry activation. |
Corporate proxy with certificate inspection |
Ensure your organization’s root CA certificate is installed in Windows so Kanzi Studio can establish HTTPS connections. |
PAC or WPAD configurations |
If your system uses a proxy auto-config (PAC) script, verify it works at the OS level (e.g., check with a browser or |
Older versions |
Only Kanzi Studio 3.9.11 and later handle proxy authentication this way. Earlier versions may fail to activate behind a proxy with authentication. |
